Old St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Bloomfield has established The Jack and Betsy Rich Scholarship through a generous donation from the Rich Family. Jack and Betsy Rich were longtime members of the church who believed education was important. A scholarship committee was established to oversee the $2,500 award given to a graduating high school senior of Episcopal denomination pursuing higher education.  This year two awards were presented on August 15, 2021 during the Sunday morning liturgy at Old St. Andrew’s Church.  Both award winners attend along with their families.  The event was followed by an outdoor reception.

The recipients of the 2021 scholarship were: Joseph Guglielmo of St. James Episcopal Church in Farmington; and Jacob Demmons of Trinity Episcopal Church in Tariffville.  Joseph plans to study business at Monmouth University, West Long Branch, NJ and Jacob will study engineering at the University of Maine.  In their applications, both award winners showed a commitment to the Episcopal faith along with having strong academic achievement.
