Our Children
Children are always welcomed and acknowledged as important members of the body of Christ at OSA. Children of all ages participate in our services. You will find a children’s area in our worship space. We believe children are active participants in our time of worship and welcome all during our time of prayer, reading of scripture, and celebration of the sacraments.
Christian Formation for Children
The curriculum Godly Play is used for teaching the 3-10 year old children. Godly Play is a widely used Montessori-based program teaching children the art of using Christian language through parables, sacred story, silence, and liturgy. Classes are held most Sundays from 30-45 minutes before the 10:00 liturgy. Following Godly Play children are invited to an area in the worship space created to include a more welcome place for the younger children during the service. Tidings of Comfort and Joy
Every year at Tidings of Comfort and Joy, our community party, OSA invites the parish and all Bloomfield residents to gather for a wonderful carol sing which mixes congregational and choir hymns, anthems and old favorites. Church school children perform poems, songs, and instrumental music in anticipation of Christmas. Afterwards, everyone retires to the parish hall for hot cocoa, mulled cider, and lots of eats.
