I am a native New Englander, having grown up in Massachusetts and
New Hampshire. I attended the University of New Hampshire and graduated
with a bachelor’s degree in organ performance. I was the organist for
several churches in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. In
1996 I retired from organ playing and joined my husband Bruce’s choir at
South Church in Granby. After Bruce’s death in 2011, I joined the
choir at OSA.
In July 2019 I
retired from The Hartt School, having worked there for 29 years, first
as Opera Production Assistant, and then as Coordinator of the Vocal
Studies Division. I continue to be self-employed in my home business –
Barbara’s Stitchery.
I have two daughters, a step-daughter, and a step-son, as well as three granddaughters and two grandsons.
I
love music, art, hiking, and kayaking. I also love to travel – I spent
a week with my daughter in Italy last summer, and – the highlight of
the year – my sister and I spent a week in England at Christmas and
attended A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at King’s College Chapel
in Cambridge.
